digital-telephoneContinuing with my previous post regarding The Mobile Evolution: Technology Innovation(Part 1), this post will give a closer look to the very first type of telephones and moving on a little bit more to some advancements.

The telephone had a mojor impact on the people all over the globe as now they can talk to their friends and relatives at distances within just no time at all. All the need to do is call their local exchange or center and ask them to make a call, as they get the request done the call the person who requested it and the conversation is made. This seems very much complex but this technology did took decades to come into existance even after the invention of telephone.

Then came the phones with dial, these were in circular shape and each number had to be dragged with the finger to the end of the dial. If the dialed number is of local region then the call is made directly but if it was of some outer region then the call first goes to local exchange, then it was forwarded to the remote exchange, and finally to the destination.

This complete procedure did took a lot of time and dialer had to wait for plenty of minutes before getting connected. After a decade or two Digital phones with buttons came to commercial market. In the meantime work was done to improve the calling and transmission technique and to handle large number of conversations at a time. Now it was possible to make calls directly to destinations inside one’s country bot not internationally.
