T-Mobile unveils webConnect 3G USB Laptop Stick Modem
Internet has become a necessity and the world is going mobile, 3G technology has done a whole world of contribution to boost it up. 3G services are being offered on mobile phones but now 3G laptop deals are not far behind as T-Mobile announced on Wednesday the webConnect USB Laptop Stick, the first 3G network adapter from Huawei Technologies Co., the portable USB modem accepts the users connect to the Internet on their laptop using T-Mobile 3G networks or 802.11g Wi-Fi, the device is also equipped with T-Mobile Connection Manager software to automatically detects the best available Internet connection.
The T-Mobile WebConnect USB laptop stick supports tri-band 3G connectivity (HSDPA/UMTS 1900/AWS/2100) and GPRS/EDGE networks. It also has a slot for microSD card up to 8GB of memory storage. T-Mobile initially supports Windows XP and Vista systems but promises free Mac support through downloadable drivers soon. The T-Mobile WebConnect USB laptop stick should be available today and cost $49.99 with a contract of two years after rebate, $99.99 for one year contract or $249.99 without a contract. Otherwise, Broadband Genie has a choice of contract laptops and pay as you go mobile broadband plans from T-Mobile as well as other internet providers
