The world is changing and change is necessary to remain in this competitive world. Well our own Gmail has also changed, many new features have been added to Gmail to make it easy to use and some additional applications for fun. Here are some of these:

Label The Menu

When when you want to select some specific item for a huge bulk then you use a tag or label to represent it, same is now being used by GMAIL.

It’s easy to apply a label to a conversation. When you’re reading the message. Just click the Labels drop-down menu or if you have keyboard shortcuts enabled, type l. From there, you can:

• Select the label you’d like from the list.
• Start typing the name of the label you’re looking for in the search box; auto-complete will help you find your label quickly (this comes in handy if you’ve got a long list of labels).
• Create a new label. Just type the name you want to give your new label and select Create new.

As an alternative, you can also select the checkbox next to the message(s) you want to label, and then choose the label from the Labels drop-down. This method allows you to label multiple messages at once.

Use the Move to drop-down menu or the keyboard shortcut v if you want to apply a label to a message and archive it (moving it from your inbox to that label) at the same time.

Fast PDF previews

Now you can preview PDFs right in your browser without waiting for them to download and open in another application. Just click the “View” link next to any .pdf attachments you receive.

Apply your Themes

You find working comfortable in a more familiar environment than a strange one, so now you can apply the themes which you like or makes  you feel better.

Audio and Video Chat

Now you can have any Audio as well as Video chat with the new Gmail. Talk to friends as if you are just sitting in front of each other.

Send Text Messages

Send SMS text messages right from Gmail. You chat from your comfy computer and reach your friends on the go; they get your messages as texts and can peck out replies on their little keyboards. Turn on SMS text messaging and more from the Labs tab under Settings.
