SmartPhones from Dell

dellphAfter dominating in the world of Computers, Laptops and Servers now Dell is coming to the world of Mobile Phones.

Yes your eyes are fine, Dell will soon be launching a SmartPhone. Though there seems to be no dearth of smartphones in the market, still Dell has decided to launch smartphones under its brand name.
The multinational technology corporation Dell is all set to create hype in the booming smartphones market with its new venture. This action of Dell can be compared with the plans of Acer, Taiwan-based PC manufacturer, to unveil its smartphones at the Mobile World Congress (probably next month).

But there is no assurance whether Dell’s smartphones will be able to give tough times to the giant smartphone manufacturers like Apple, RIM and Palm who have already captured the market for smartphones.

Evolutionary smartphones offer PC-like functionality. They look bright and cater to the different needs of people belonging to different strata of society. From smartphone aficionados to businessmen, everyone loves smartphones. It is a mini computer that behaves like a high tech phone.

For almost one year, Dell’s team of experts has been working on the clandestine “smartphone project” in Chicago’s Moto-territory, according to the reports of the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times.

As per other sources, with the help of Google’s Android open source platform and Windows mobile, Dell has developed prototypes of the new product. After hitting the market with less-than-spectacular success of PDAs and MP3 players, the company has elaborate plans to launch its smartphones soon.

Speculations are rife that at the forthcoming GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Dell may launch its smartphones. The company may add music streaming synchronization in the new gadgets to allure the smartphone lovers.

The Dell smartphone is codenamed the “MePhone,” which will offer customized services and features, according to the rumors. The new product of the company will be available in the market by Sept. 9 this year.

In fact, Dell’s smartphone will have to face hard competition from the upcoming Palm Pre in the Smartphone market.

Avi Greengart, an analyst at Current Analysis, held, “The PC makers surely will face some obstacles…. We’re not in a hardware era … software is not the core competence of Dell, Acer and HP.
