Nokia N97: A Must have for every Mobile Freak
The N97 isn’t a device that will trigger knee-jerk hysteria, but instead
it should breed cool-headed excitement at the prospect of a new era of
mobile experience.
The N97 has a 5 megapixel camera phone with a Carl Zeiss Tessar lens.
Compared to the iPhone’s paltry 2 megapixel, that’s a whole lot more
impressive, though not peerless. And there’s a dual LED flash, too – you
really will be able to take proper pictures with this thing.
The 3.5-inch widescreen is fully touch compatible, though isn’t
multi-touch like the iPhone’s. It’s a bit of a shame, but Apple really
patented up the iPhone, so it’s no wonder. The N97 will also
impressively shoot 16:9 video.
If you have a Nokia N97, then its certain that you won’t get lost as
like other Nokia GPS-enabled mobiles, there’s the ability to do
turn-by-turn directions but with a twist – the N97 has a built-in
compass.
There’s a whopping 32GB of internal storage for music, photos, video and
more. There’s also space for another 16GB via the Micro SD slot. 48GB on
a mobile seems way more that it was expected some years ago.
Of course Nokia wants you to abuse this space with music, movies, photos
and N-Gage games, and as such has worked hard to ensure the N97’s
battery is up to the task – it promises to kick out up to 37 hours of
music and 4.5 hours of video.
Mainly smartphone provides easy access to a number social networking
sites and the Web browser supports streaming Flash videos. The N97 also
introduces something Nokia calls “social location,” which uses the
capabilities of the integrated A-GPS sensors and electronic compass to
automatically update your social networks or let you share your location
via photos or videos with friends. The Home screen can be personalized
with widgets of favorite Web and social networking sites.
The new phone has been ergonomically designed and it’s definitely
smoother than many previous Nokia mobiles. The N97 runs the 5th Edition
of Symbian’s S60 operating system – now fully touch compatible.
This extreme gadget will soon be hitting the market and the price
estimated is $695.
