You need to install drivers like VGA Graphics Driver, Audio Sound Driver, USB Drivers and many other hardware devices. If you are using an Intel based computer you may have faced problems with Graphics after reinstallation of OS as the Video driver may not be properly installed and people keep on blaming the LCD.

Well instead of looking into your System > Device Manager you should directly check out the Online Drivers Checkup Utility at Intel.com which will automatically scan your computer for Installed drivers and what should be downloaded which can be a perfect tool if you feel your PC is missing something.

How to Speed up your Windows XP or Vista Laptop? Follow these Simple Tips

Posted by max On September - 20 - 2009 1 COMMENT

speed_performanceMost of us use Laptops with Windows XP or Windows Vista and have found our Laptops hanging or slowing down as we try to access multiple tasks simultaneously. Well there are ways by which you can speed up your computer or laptop, you just need to follow these simple tips and all will be done.

Firstly it is suggested to increase your RAM if you find your PC slowing down and hanging once in a while. There must be good amount of free space on your hard disk and unused videos, programs, and unnecessary files must be removed. Try to mage one-fifth of your hard disk free, this really improves some speed.

You must use low graphics wallpapers and screensavers as they use a large amount of your laptop’s memory and you always feel like speeding up your laptop. You will have to compromise in terms of graphics to get a better performance out of your ordinary laptop. In Windows Vista you can adjust the vistal settings for best performance.

In windows XP you can lower the Display resolution and not to use dazzling and high resolution wallpapers, this saves a large amount of CPU and RAM consumpion. It is also advised to minimize some programs when you are running multiple programs simultaneously. You can make your windows laptop to boot faster by managing startup programs, as useless startup programs need to be removed to provide you with effecient performance.

If you still feel you can’t compromise with your graphics then I recommend buying a good quality ATI or NVIDIA Graphics Card to boost your laptop’s or computer’s performance. If you like to play games then you should prefer Windows XP over Windows Vista as games requires larges graphics and consume lots of RAM.

Follow these simple steps and I feel you will be really happy with your Windows XP and Windows Vista’s Performance and your laptop will be cruzing smoothly.
