ASUS P-Series Equipped with Intel’s Anti-Theft Technology
Advancement in technology has really controbuted in multiple fields but the major concern that took attention of many technology companies is to took a step against the increasing theft. Intel did came up with Anti-Theft Technology for laptops that will make them disable with some specific function.
Asus has spent the bulk of its time pumping out all sorts of new GPUs. However, it’s going back to its roots – and by that, we mean, back to the notebook arena. The outfit’s P Series, which was just showcased at CeBIT in Germany last month, will soon be equipped with Intel’s own Anti-Theft Technology in an effort to curb the growing theft of laptop computers. Not surprisingly, Asus is aiming this at businesses, business users and everyday consumers that tend to travel often.
The Anti-Theft Protection Technology provide users with the ability to send a “poison pill” remotely, making the notebook to become inoperable by shutting it down and a local password or recovery token willbe required when the user want to reactivate it. Still this Anti-theft Technology doesn’t offer complete safety. It will keep your data safe once stolen, but this technology doesn’t prevent your notebook from being stolen as thieves will steal until they know that your laptop is equipped with an Anti-theft Technology.
But unless ASUS plans to put on huge “Anit-Theft” Tags or stickers on the lid, it is assumed that most thieves will yank first and think later. This technology will soon be incorporated in P30 & P80 notebooks. This technology is expected to be in other notebooks very soon.
Thieves beware now before stealing a laptop, look for the stickers with Anti-Theft Tech on the lid.
